It might be hard to believe with the Stanley Cup Finals still in progress, but next season isn't that far away after all.
In fact, an announcement today shows the end of the rainbow might even be in sight. The Chicago Blackhawks announced their preseason slate today, and two of those dates in September are against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blue Jackets and Blackhawks will meet at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. before meeting four days later in Chicago's United Center at 7:30 p.m.
Add in the announcement last week of the Blue Jackets' participation in the early-September Red Wings Prospects Tournament and we're less than 100 days from actual, live, hockey for the union blue.
As they say, winter is coming, and we can't wait.
