Baby gender reveal videos have become a staple of modern day social media, but Erik Karlsson took it to another level last night.
The Senators defenseman – along with his wife Melinda – orchestrated the most hockey-themed gender reveal we've ever seen: a slap shot reveal. It's not the first time a hockey player has used a slap shot to perform a task in daily life – remember the kid who pulled a tooth with one? – but it is probably the best use yet.

They say the Force runs strong through bloodlines. Given the Karlsson's affinity for Star Wars, and Erik's generational talent as a defenseman, this child has more or less hit the genetic lottery.
