Zach Werenski's season ended abruptly when a Phil Kessel shot caught him in the face during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The immediate aftermath was horrible and led to more than a few discussions about stoppage of play. He couldn't even see out of his right eye at one point and did not return to Game 3, and the next day, was ruled out for the rest of the season. The diagnosis: a fractured orbital bone and sinus cavity.
Only a week or so after the injury was sustained, Werenski already looks like he is on a quick road to recovery.
He posted a photo on his Instagram story on Thursday night before going to a Chainsmokers concert in Detroit. Noticeable improvement, we'll say.
With him in the photo is Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin and incoming defenseman for the Harvard Crimson Nick Azar.
