The weight of expectations isn't anything new for Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
After winning a Vezina Trophy in his first season with the team (2012-13) and nearly willing them to the postseason, Bobrovsky has overcome adversity time and again.
It wasn't always that way. It never felt like Bobrovsky was going to reach that level. Confidence issues and injury problems followed him consistently, with a low point coming early in the 2014-15 season when Bobrovsky admitted he didn't have any confidence in his game.
After winning his second Vezina Trophy, Bobrovsky's confidence is sky high. And for a player, such a strong finish only makes waiting for the new season that much more difficult.
"I'm excited about the season, how it's going to go," said Bobrovsky. "Training camp is a good step for us to make us better and ready. I'm not really focused only on training camp but I am focused on the season and the first opening game."
That's a typical Bobrovsky answer, isn't it?
Part of his continued growth is his newfound openness, both with the media and through social media. When asked about his Twitter account, he joked about a recent picture he posted.
"You saw that picture when I was pushing that rock?"
Bobrovsky was referring to this tweet from when he was in Aspen, Colorado.

Bobrovsky is trying to approach social media similarly to his actual profession: with a unique zest. On the ice, he's been able to overcome most obstacles thrown his way, and now he must deal with Twitter followers. Godspeed, Bob.
"It's fun, it's different, a little bit new for me...but I enjoy it so far," Bobrovsky said.
