For the past eight years, TSN has listed the top 50 players in the NHL after running a poll of 22 experts. This year's edition has been released, and a couple of Columbus Blue Jackets players have been named: Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky both made the cut in the 2017 edition.
Bobrovsky made the list as the 28th-best player, trailing only Carey Price (5th) and Braden Holtby (19th) among NHL goaltenders. The only time he was previously named to the list was after his Vezina-winning season in 2013 (he was ranked 45th that following year).
Panarin was ranked as the 32nd-best player after being named the 34th best player before the 2016-17 season. He has back-to-back 70 point season in his first two NHL campaigns, including a Calder Trophy in his rookie year.
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid passed Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby for top spot in the league. McDavid received 59 percent of first-place votes in this year's poll.
