At long last.
Contract standoffs usually end when there's a breakthrough or an olive branch. They also end when time becomes the enemy of the player.
In this case, the latter won out. With less than a week until opening night and negotiations seemingly going nowhere, Josh Anderson has reportedly decided to take the Blue Jackets' three-year offer (worth $1.85 million annually) and report to the club.
The first report came from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, who sent this tweet:
Hearing Josh Anderson is going to take the three-year deal in CLB and sign. $1.85M AAV. End of the day, players want to play.
