After finally notching a win that didn't cause some early grey hair to begin last week, the Columbus Blue Jackets stood at 5-1-0 atop the Metropolitan Division and were returning to Nationwide Arena for a four-game home stand.

The week did not end as well as it started.

Now 5-3-0, let's take a look at what faces the Blue Jackets this week.

Wednesday: En Garde!

Looking to snap a two-game skid, the Blue Jackets play their third straight home game tomorrow when they face off with the Buffalo Sabres (2-5-2) at 8 p.m. The Blue Jackets, who gave up six goals on Saturday night to Los Angeles, face a Sabres team that's allowed 36 goals to this point in the season, second-most in the NHL. Wednesday's game is part of NBC's Rivalry Night, and will air on NBC Sports Network.

I will also be in attendance for the first time this season.

Friday: Big Old Jet Airliner

Coming to town for their second and final meeting with the Blue Jackets will be the Winnipeg Jets, looking for some revenge after a 5-2 loss to Columbus on Oct. 17 at Bell MTS Place. The game can be seen on FOX Sports Ohio and the puck drops at 7 p.m.

Saturday: Home and Road Blues

For the third time already this season, the Blue Jackets will play a back-to-back and they'll do so on the road. They'll face a rejuvenated St. Louis Blues team on Saturday night at Scottrade Center, a building that usually produces entertaining and physical games. The puck drops at 8 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio.

Monday: A Battle is Bruin

To conclude the stretch of four games in six days, the Boston Bruins come to Nationwide Arena on Monday for a 7 p.m. tilt. The game will be the last at home for the Blue Jackets before they hit the road for three in a row, and also the final game on their October schedule. Jeff Rimer and Jody Shelley have the call on FOX Sports Ohio.
