Appreciate Sergei Bobrovsky.
The Detroit Red Wings perfectly executed a 2-on-0 rush, and it did not matter because Sergei Bobrovsky made the save of the damn year.
Bob’s had a penchant for stealing games for the Jackets over the last few years – he’s won two Vezinas with the club – and tonight’s shootout win would certainly fall under that category. Bob made three saves in overtime – the crazy kick-save above and one on an Anthony Mantha breakaway – and then eight (!!) more in the shootout, as the Jackets will leave Little Caesars Arena with a win.
Let’s take a closer look:

And another one.
Let's just admire this from another angle. #CBJ pic.twitter.com/iplacqq2YB

How did he do it? Not even Bobrovsky knows.
"I can't even remember," he said afterward.
Seriously?
"I played the first pass and I thought he was going to shoot," Bobrovsky said. "I just threw what I could (at the puck), and I felt it hit the heel. It was good. You're not going to have those every night, but it was needed tonight."
It certainly was, as it helped the team to a 2-1 win. Was it the save of the year? Former NHL goalie Martin Biron certainly thinks so.
