The Washington Capitals keep scoring, but the Columbus Blue Jackets keep swinging back.
After Alex Ovechkin scored four minutes into the second to extend the Caps' lead to two again, it was Josh Anderson's turn to step up. The big forward, who earned a game misconduct in the series opener, beat Capitals goalie Philipp Grubauer with a missile of a wrister at 8:49 of the second.
Zach Werenski and Seth Jones picked up assists on the goal, which capped a beautiful odd-man rush against that saw four Blue Jackets touch the puck in the Capitals' zone, leading to the finish that would make it a 3-2 game.
The goal was the second playoff goal of Anderson's career.
