And, we're off and running.
The Blue Jackets made the first move of trade deadline day, acquiring veteran defenseman Ian Cole to add depth on the blue line. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman was first to report the move.
UPDATE: Confirmed by the club, the Blue Jackets are sending a 2020 third-round pick to Ottawa.
Return to OTT is a third-rounder and Nick Moutrey for Ian Cole from Columbus.

Hmmm...depth on the blue line, you say? Yeah, it sure sounds like a Jack Johnson departure is imminent.
Jarmo Kekalainen sent a third-round pick and prospect Nick Moutrey (who hasn't been able to get out of AHL Cleveland) to the Ottawa Senators for Cole. Kekalainen, as the St. Louis Blues' amateur scouting director, drafted Cole in the first round (No. 18 overall) back in 2007.
Cole was part of the complicated Derick Brassard trade last week, and it was believed the Senators were going to flip him at the deadline for an additional asset.
