These are the kind of wins that turn the momentum of a season around.

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat one of the best the Western Conference has to offer this season in the Vegas Golden Knights to secure points 72 and 73 on the season.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS 0 1 1 1

Joonas Korpisalo got the start tonight for a sick Sergei Bobrovsky and got off to a strong start in the first period, stopping all 15 pucks that came his way. The goaltender was probably the primary reason for the win tonight; all told 37 for 38 stopping opposing shots.

Meanwhile, the offense was able to generate a goal on a Zach Werenski rebound attempt. The score stood 1-0 after the first 20 minutes.

The Golden Knights were quick to respond 1:30 into the second period on an Erik Haula goal, and on paper the second period was dominated by the team from Vegas, who outshot the Blue Jackets 14-4. The difference: two of the Blue Jackets’ attempts went in, making it 3-1 after two periods.

It was home sailing from there, as tremendous goaltending from Korpisalo closed out a 4-1 win.

Another bright spot was the Blue Jackets' penalty kill, which finished two for two on the night.

Injury Update

Josh Anderson remains sidelined with a knee injury. Markus Nutivaara is still on the injured reserve list with an upper-body injury, and there is no timetable for his recovery. Dean Kukan also has an upper-body injury and is expected to remain out a few more weeks.
