After winning ten straight, the Columbus Blue Jackets dropped a game to a desperate St. Louis club, 2-1. Here's the reaction from inside the locker room:
John Tortorella
On his team's inability to tally the equalizer: "He (Jake Allen) played good. And they checked really hard in the third. Gotta give them credit for their checking in the third. We just couldn't - we had enough chances - we just couldn't beat him."
On his thoughts on the the game: "Oh, I thought we played a good game. First period, especially, I thought we had chances to shoot the puck more. But we had ample opportunities to win the hockey game, we just couldn't beat the goalie."
Thomas Vanek
On his thoughts on the game: "You're going to lose games in this league. It's tough to lose a game like this where we had so many close chances, myself included, gotta find a way to score one. Gotta take the positives, we picked up a lot of points, obviously we wanted to pick up two more tonight. The effort was there."
On the streak: "I've been on streaks before, didn't seem like 10 games, because we were so focused on just the next win, really, just picking up two points. Everyone else around us is winning so we know we had to pick up points."
On the locker room atmosphere after the loss: "Fine, we played a good game. It's not like we took them for granted or took them lightly. We respect every team, their goalie had a great night, and we just couldn't find a way to win."
Boone Jenner
On the upcoming road-trip: "We want to carry the way we've been playing on the road with us. We've been playing some good hockey as of late, so just to keep it going on the road. Three games out in western Canada, they're big points for us. We're going to have to bring that effort."
