Cam Atkinson score goals.
Edit: he scores a lot of them.
Since making his NHL debut in 2011, Atkinson has steadily improved into one of the more consistent goal-scorers in the league. Every single one of his full NHL seasons has been a 20-plus goal season, including a career-high mark of 35 goals in 2016-17 (which earned him NHL All-Star honors).
Atkinson scored 24 goals in 65 regular-season games in 2017-18, and had four points in the Blue Jackets' opening-round playoff loss to the Washington Capitals.
It should be no surprise, then, that NHL.com's early fantasy hockey rankings view Atkinson favorably. He checked in at No. 21 on their list of top right wingers, ahead of names like James Neal and Mark Stone, and neck-and-neck with a guy he's quite comparable to in production and salary – TJ Oshie.
Here's how the rankings are weighed:
Standard Yahoo categories include goals, assists, plus/minus, PPP, SOG and now hits for skaters. ... Value has been quantified based on factors including but not limited to past production, projected line combinations, power-play usage, injury history, sleeper upside, anticipated regression or bounce-back candidacy, age and contract status.
Leading the way among right wingers is Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov, followed by Winnipeg's Patrik Laine and Boston's David Pastrnak.
