We are still a few months away from meaningful hockey action, but that doesn't mean that Blue Jackets players aren't hard at work.
During the Eastside Elite All-Star Challenge in Michigan, Gustav Nyquist (a former Red Wing) and Zach Werenski (a Detroit native) found themselves on the same side for the first time. As the game went to overtime, it only made sense that Werenski and Nyquist teamed up for the winning goal of the game.

The Eastside Elite All-Star Challenge was put on to benefit The Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation. Steven Olesky, a defenseman in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, put together the event. Olesky founded Eastside Elite Hockey as well, which is a summer league for professional hockey players in Michigan.
See? The offseason isn't all bad. There's still some hockey fun to be played, especially when it gets to benefit a good cause.
