Columbus Blue Jackets All-Star defenseman Zach Werenski went to Las Vegas and returned to Columbus a winner.
The second time All-Star won the NHL Fountain Face-Off at the Bellagio as part of the league's skills competition on Friday night, then helped the Metropolitan Division win the All-Star Game itself on Saturday.
The shooting competition from the iconic Bellagio fountain was a site to behold, and Werenski made a difficult competition look easy (I guess that's why he's an NHL All-Star), hitting various targets from different lengths in a faster time than his peers.

Then, on Saturday, Werenski was key in helping the Metropolitan Division emerge victorious (and richer) in the All-Star Game. The Metropolitan team defeated the Pacific Divison 6-4 to reach the finals, then beat the Central Divison 5-3. In the two games, Werenski tallied three assists.
Werenski's wins at the Bellagio and inside T-Mobile Arena weren't his only victories over the weekend, though. The 11 players from the Metropolitan Divison split the $1 million prize money.
#CBJ D Zach Werenski said he wouldn't do anything crazy with his share of the $1 million pot won by the Metropolitan Division tonight ... until I suggested he could go put it all on black at the roulette table.

"Maybe," he joked. "You never know. It's Vegas."
All in all, a pretty successful weekend for the 24-year old.
