The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a rough season, but Boone Jenner was a bright spot in Saturday's NHL All-Star Game.
Jenner, the captain of the Blue Jackets, scored twice and helped Team McDavid reach the final game before losing 7-4 to Team Matthews.
Team McDavid reached the final after defeating Team MacKinnon 4-3 in a shootout. Jenner got the scoring started for his team in the first half of that game after Colorado Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev was left frozen on a pretty pass from Nick Suzuki of the Montreal Canadiens.
Under the NHL All-Star Game format, teams play two ten-minute halves. Each team has nine skaters and two goalies, and all action is 3-on-3.

Team McDavid scored two goals in the final minute of the second half to tie the game before winning the shootout.
Jenner started the scoring for Team McDavid again in the second game, another first half goal that tied the game at 1-1. He beat New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin on another good look from Suzuki.

Jenner's two goals makes it five for the Blue Jackets over the last two All-Star games; Johnny Gaudreau had a hat trick in the 2023 festivities.
Team Matthews split a grand prize of one million dollars. If split evenly amongst the 11 players, that's just over $90,000 per person.
