1st Period
The Avalanche dominated the first period, outshooting the Blue Jackets 11-7 and taking a 12-7 advantage in high-danger chances into the second period, per Natural Stat Trick.
2nd Period
Kirill Marchenko opened the scoring with his 20th goal of the season at 9:35 after deflecting Erik Gudbranson's centering pass off the rush through Justus Annunen's wickets. With the goal, Marchenko became the second player in franchise history to score 20 goals in each of his first two seasons with the club.

Chris Wagner put the Avalanche on the board at 4:39 when he deflected Sean Walker's left-point shot that trickled past Tarasov.

The Avalanche pulled Annunen for an extra skater with three minutes left in regulation before Nathan MacKinnon hit the post with a left-circle slapshot at 17:43.
Cole Sillinger iced the game with his 13th goal of the ice when he scored on an empty net at 18:27.
With the 4-1 win, the Blue Jackets improved to 25-38-12.
