The Columbus Blue Jackets aren't part of these Stanley Cup playoffs but several notable ex-Blue Jackets are partaking in a chance at the Stanley Cup.

How about Sergei Bobrovsky?

After an amazing run with the Florida Panthers last year in which he began entering the conversation for Conn Smythe, and the Panthers fell in five games to the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Final, Bob's Panthers are back and better than ever.

Florida knocked out the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games on Monday night, winning the deciding game 6-1.

Bobrovsky, one of three finalists for the Vezina, was on a mission for the Panthers going 4-0-1, with a 2.78 goals against average and a .896 save percentage.

The only game he struggled in was last Saturday's 6-3 loss, in which he and the Panthers surrendered three first-period goals but had the game within one goal going into the third period down 4-3. He allowed two goals apiece in Games 1 and 2 and three in Game 3.

Bobrovsky is closing in on 400 career regular season wins and is 14th all-time with 396 victories. With two Vezinas and possibly a third on the way, the Hall of Fame seems more likely to be in his future. He could have his No. 72 retired in Columbus.

Kevin Stenlund

Florida Panthers center Steven Lorentz (18) is congratulated by center Kevin Stenlund (82), center Anton Lundell (15) and teammates after he scored a goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning during the third period in game three of the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Amalie Arena.
