For this thread, we need to cover the thing that riles me up the most about the NHL right now:
3-on-3 is not hockey! It's a skills competition. Finishing games in this overtime format is nonsense. I get the rationale (games end an order of magnitude faster, which means less wear-and-tear before playing again tomorrow), but it's just silly. At least a shootout is an acknowledgement that it just needs to end.
Let me hear your OT format thoughts. How should it be improved?
