The hype train is getting ready to leave the station.
Blue Jackets prospect Vitaly Abramov was named to Russia's U20 preliminary roster for the World Junior Championships according to Igor Eronko of Sport-Express. A year after multiple players that played in North America were left off of Russia's team, it appears that they will be bringing multiple players to camp to compete.

Having played 16 games this season for Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Abramov had 12 goals and 14 assists for a total of 26 points. He was also traded this season to the Victoriaville Tigers (also of the QMJHL), where he has played 11 games putting up four goals and 11 assists for a total of 15 points.
Abramov played two games during the Russia-Canada Super Series and scored one goal. The Russia-Canada Super Series is an exhibition series where players are taken from Canadien Hockey League teams as a warmup to the World Junior Championships. It has been played every since 2003.
