That Yegor Chinakhov pick sure looks better and better every day, doesn't it?
This week, Chinakhov was named KHL Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive month. Kirill Marchenko has been heating up, and Emil Bemstrom is playing quite well.
Let's take a look at what the season has held so far for Blue Jackets prospects.
Kirill Marchenko
Marchenko has tallied 6-4-10 in 14 games with SKA St. Petersburg at the KHL level, and 3-4-7 in two games with SKA-1946 St. Petersburg at the MHL level. He started the season cold, but he's been on fire recently.
Kirill Marchenko has been red hot of late.

Emil Bemström
Bemstrom went over to Liiga to stay sharp and work on his game for the upcoming NHL season, and he's certainly done that. In 12 games with HIFK, he's scored seven goals paired with five assists. In the play below, he makes a game-saving block at one end of the ice, then scores the game-winning goal at the other end nine seconds later. Sounds exactly like what John Tortorella wants to see.

Yegor Chinakhov
Chinakhov, 19, was named the KHL's Rookie of the Month for the second-straight month, quite an impressive feat. He's tallied 6-6-12 in 19 games with Avangard Omsk while playing against grown men every night.

Veini Vehviläinen
The Finnish netminder has had his struggles with JYP in Liiga this season, posting just a .907 save percentage and a 2.73 goals-allowed-average. His stats are a slight improvement from last year with the Cleveland Monsters, though, when he notched a .901 save percentage and 2.76 goals-allowed-average.
Mikael Pyyhtiä
Pyyhtiä, the Blue Jackets' fourth round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, has been playing well at the U20 level for TPS (Liiga). He's notched 8-10-18 in 15 games with the club at the age of 18.

Many of the Blue Jackets prospects that play their trade in America or Canada haven't seen their seasons start yet, so this report is a little light for now. Hopefully, it'll be a little longer in the near future.
