After a 0-3-0 start, there will be some changes in the Blue Jackets' lineup on Tuesday night.

Practice Notes

  • Brad Larsen attended to a personal matter and was not at practice Monday. He will return Tuesday.
  • Nick Blankenburg is scheduled to take Adam Boqvist's spot in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks. I can't confirm which pair he'll be on but if today's practice was any indication, he'll make his season debut.
    • "Yeah, [I'm] just really excited for the opportunity," Blankenburg said.
  • There were new power-play units at practice today. They are embedded in the tweet below:
    • "We're gonna try some new stuff until it works," associate head coach Pascal Vincent said. He later added that "we need to get faster. We need better chemistry there."
  • Vincent on the morale of the locker room following a 0-3-0 start: [It's] positive. It's a long season. We know it, and facing adversity is part of it. When you're going to face those stretches, learn from your mistakes and get better."
  • Vincent on Yegor Chinakov's start to the regular season following a strong preseason: "He's done a lot of good things that you don't see on the scoreboard and there's a few mistakes that are quite evident. You don't like those. He doesn't like them. But we changed our d-zone. We changed our neutral zone. He's learning how to move around and get comfortable in those situations."

The Blue Jackets will look to pick up their first win when they begin a three-game homestand on Tuesday at 7 p.m., taking on the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Ohio (in the Blue Jackets market), ESPN+ (out-of-market), and 97.1 FM The Fan (radio).
