The situation has changed since I last suggested changes for next season. So, let's take a look at rumors and possibilities at this time.

According to a Rangers blog, the Rangers have been talking to Provorov's agent. Apparently the Rangers have made a sizeable offer. As I've seen this only once, I don't give it much credibility. We'll see.

Portzy claims that Waddell has an interest in Marner. I don't like the idea. We have a good, young and developing forward core who learned to play for each other, this season. While I can't provide evidence that Marner has an attitude problem, there have long been rumors of such. Why bring a potential attitude problem into a team first group?

Marco Rossi and the Wild have reached an impasse and several sources say that the Wild are listening to offers. Rossi is undersized at 5'9" and playing center would shorten his career. But convincing him to play on the wing would take advantage of his strengths. Imagine a 2nd line of Rossi - Fantilli - Johnson. Chinakhov, a draft pick (#20 I think) and a mid-level prospect should be enough to acquire him.

Jet Greaves has impressed more than just the Jackets. In the last ten days, I've read 5 blogs where the writer strongly urged his team to attempt to acquire Jet.....AS A STARTER. None of those teams have a chance at prying Jet away from the Jackets, but seeing the interest is a good thing.

A report translated from Russia's RG site reports that the Jackets have had contract talks with Tarasov's agent. All things considered, this seems more CYA than serious interest. DT had his worst season, statistically, this year. The only progress, if you can call it that, is that he didn't spend any time on IR. The fact that Evason chose to play Greaves at the end of the season, while chasing a playoff spot, speaks volumes about what the Jackets think of Tarasov.

There's been no word about contract talks with Fabbro and Provorov, yet. But the SCF are still ongoing, so it's early.

A ridiculous idea turned up a couple days ago. Jet Greaves for Ryan Miller. Why would Waddell trade for a goalie who is about 10 years older than Greaves and at the end of his career? Yes, the goaltending must improve, but I suggest that Greaves IS that improvement. One more win would have put the Jackets in the playoffs, this year. While one win won't be enough, next season, Jet being a full time NHL goalie will strongly increase the odds of the Jackets making the playoffs, next year.

More items as they turn up.
