A big center is now off the board.
In the 5th round of the NHL Draft with the 148th pick, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected center Kale Howarth. Howarth played for the Trail Smoke Eaters in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).

In 51 games this past season he put up 58 points. He scored 30 goals and put up 28 assists. Howarth is an overage player as he is 20-years old. He will be playing for the University of Connecticut in 2018-19. He will play one more season with the Trail Eaters before heading to the NCAA.
