Zac Dalpe has had an up-and-down first year with the Blue Jackets.
He made the team out of training camp and played well in preseason action, but since the season began, he's had a rough go. John Tortorella has tried to use him on the fourth line with little success, and he's taken some ill-advised penalties that haven't helped his cause (see: the elbowing penalty last week in New York).
According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet (among others), the Blue Jackets placed Dalpe on waivers Thursday. Dalpe has no points in 10 games with Columbus this season.

If Dalpe clears waivers, the Blue Jackets have the option to assign him to Cleveland (AHL).
