That's what the Columbus Blue Jackets have been waiting for – a complete effort in a dominant, emphatic win over a division rival.
The Jackets put up 42 shots on goal, dominating the New York Rangers despite a 2-0 final score – a modest margin thanks to some quality goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist. He was out-dueled by Sergei Bobrovsky, though, who pitched a 36-save shutout.
Columbus let their star power shine tonight, with Zach Werenski and Artemi Panarin both scoring on some absolute rockets.

Lundqvist had no chance on either goal. Panarin's first power play goal as a member of the Blue Jackets was a straight up laser past Lundqvist's ear.

Werenski's goal was damn pretty, too. Lundqvist was moving to his left to follow the puck, and the 20-year-old blueliner put it bar-down on the far post before Lundqvist could do anything to stop it.

Not a bad way to spend a Friday night – plus this win puts the Jackets back into second place in the Metropolitan Division, passing the Penguins – plus the Jackets have a game in hand.
Injury Update
Lukas Sedlak skated today for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury about a month ago, and appears to be closer to a return than his previous timetable (six weeks) would suggest.
Next Up
The Blue Jackets get to relax a bit this weekend, as they're off tomorrow and Sunday. They'll hit the road for a Monday game in Buffalo against the lowly Sabres (5-9-4 – yikes!) before coming home to face the Flames (Wednesday) and Senators (Friday).
