Bit by bit, pieces are returning back to the Columbus Blue Jackets lineup.
Blue Jackets center Lukas Sedlak has been activated off of injured reserve and may play as soon as Wednesday against the Calgary Flames at Nationwide Arena. Sedlak was suffering an ankle injury that put him out for the past 13 games.
Before Sedlak was injured, he played in eight games scoring two goals in that time. Most impressively, he started nearly 60% of his zone starts in the defensive zone and was nearly posting a 60% Corsi For at even strength. Those numbers would be elite for a first line center, let alone a fourth line center.
It will make the fourth line lineup decisions harder given that Sedlak is a center and fellow center Jordan Schroeder has settled in nicely into the role. Given Schroeder's strong play, it may indicate another player on the line is going to be moving out.
The Czech Republic native's return is going to force tough lineup decisions. This will bolster depth down the middle that was lacking after his injury.
