Taking care of business.
The Columbus Blue Jackets were able to come back from the league-mandated bye week and get a win against the Dallas Stars. It wasn't always pretty, and not many of them have been recently, but they got it done.
1 | 2 | 3 | OT | F | |

BLUE JACKETS | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2 |
STARS | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
The Blue Jackets came out of the gate hopping and were able to put shots on the Stars. The pressure they put on led to a giveaway, and with it, Columbus wasn't going to miss. With his first goal as a Blue Jacket, Jordan Schroeder put the team up.
The second period was mostly dull as the Stars began to pile on shots before making it into a more exciting game in the third period. The Blue Jackets would not have a single high danger shot attempt against the Stars during the period.
The third period would be more of the same as the Stars would continue to pepper Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. Late in the third period, the Stars would finally break through. Alexander Radulov of the Stars would clean up the mess in front to tie the game.
In the extra frame, Radulov would put his hand over the puck putting the Blue Jackets onto the power play. The Blue Jackets would not be able to put one away. Later in overtime, the Stars would get a power play, but the Blue Jackets would be able to kill it off to end the extra frame.
In the shootout, Artemi Panarin would score with a nifty backhand and Korpisalo would stop all three Stars shooters to give the Blue Jackets a win.
Injury Update
Ryan Murray, Brandon Dubinsky, and Cam Atkinson all skated today with the team as they reach the end of their projected timetables for return.
