The Blue Jackets are doing something right.
It began Saturday night against the New Jersey Devils, when they shot pucks from all angles and recorded 50-plus shots in a 6-1 win.
Then, on Tuesday in Brooklyn, the Blue Jackets repeated the dominant effort from 10 days earlier, but this time got the desired result. With 51 shots on goal, they were able to score four times and pick up two points.
Tonight in Toronto, they made some NHL history.
With 55-plus (!) shots on Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen – this post was written with four minutes left in regulation – the Blue Jackets became the first expansion-era NHL team (since 1967-68) with three straight games of 50-plus shots on goal.
Sportsnet mentioned this earlier, and now it's confirmed: The Blue Jackets are the first expansion-era NHL team (post 1967-1968) to record 50-plus shots on goal in three straight games. #CBJ
