The Columbus Blue Jackets have plenty of questions entering into the 2018-19 season. They're hoping one player, Josh Anderson, is the least of their worries. The past couple of seasons have been consistent and have shown that Anderson can provide great output.

When Jackets TV caught up with him in Sudbury, Ont. last week, Anderson outlined his offseason workout plan and what's to come next season.

"Summer has been pretty good," said Anderson. "(I've been) training really hard with Gary Roberts...training there five days a week, trying to get on the ice, trying to get in shape for Torts' camp."

The coaching staff and management gave Anderson much to work on this offseason during the exit meetings after their first-round playoff loss to the Washington Capitals. He has made sure to take all of the advice to heart.

"A lot of positives coming out of the exit meetings," Anderson said. "Obviously it's not what we wanted, the end result, but you always want to get better as a player and there is always something you can get better at."

Realizing where the game is headed with zone exits and zone entries, Anderson understands that holding onto the puck is important. He also knows that it will be a big part of his game as he preps for next season.

"Whenever you're coming over the blue line, I want to hold onto the puck more, be more creative. Like I said, you can always get quicker too," he said. "You see how the game is going these days, it's so fast, there are so many good players in the league, so you've got to be working at your game all the time."
