The Columbus Blue Jackets took down the Detroit Red Wings in overtime on opening night, and seemingly nothing has gone right for the Wings ever since. With a 2-7-2 record, they've been the worst team in hockey so far, and the Blue Jackets will look to capitalize on that tonight.
Columbus, meanwhile, has picked things up lately, with 12 goals in their last two games. Detroit didn't go away quietly in the first matchup, but Columbus will certainly look to keep up their momentum.

Storylines
- Joonas Korpisalo has, for now at least, taken over as the starter, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be in the net tonight. While he's passed the eye test so far, the stats sheet looks a bit discouraging for both of Columbus' goalies.
- A seven-goal outburst against St. Louis led way to a five-goal effort last time out versus Buffalo for the Blue Jackets. The goals have certainly been coming in bunches over the last two games, and it appears as if John Tortorella has found a line combination that works – but we've seen him throw it all into a blender once things start going south. Can the Blue Jackets keep it up?
