The Blue Jackets are off to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history, and on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena, it was an atmosphere unlike anything we've witnessed in this town.
Amidst the celebration that followed Artemi Panarin's empty-net goal with 1:53 left, some fans seated behind the Blue Jackets bench got a little too excited – if that's even possible, given the circumstances. John Tortorella said post-game that he got beer poured on his head after Panarin's goal, and Sportsnet was able to get a clip of Tortorella drying his hair with a towel.
This is incredible stuff, and Tortorella was a good sport about it, giving the fans a smile and a wave afterward.
