With his first period goal against the Dallas Stars, Zach Werenski became just the third defenseman in Blue Jackets franchise history to score 40 regular-season goals with the club, joining Rostislav Klesla (2000-2011) and David Savard (2011-Present).

The goal was Werenski's second goal and third point of the young campaign, and he joins Cam Atkinson, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Oliver Bjorkstrand as the only Blue Jackets skaters with multiple goals (and the only defenseman).
Give Werenski time to pick his spot, and it wont end well for you.#CBJ pic.twitter.com/wZybsl1NsF

Before his goal, Werenski was tied with some familiar names, including Fedor Tyutin (2008-2016) and Seth Jones (2015-present), who were/are stuck at 39 career goals with the franchise. And at age 21, he's by far the youngest player in franchise history to have reached the mark, and he's just getting started.
