Storylines
- Stay out of the box. The Islanders boast the fourth highest power play percentage in the NHL, while the Jackets have the twenty-second ranked penalty kill. The Jacket penalty kill has been perfect the last three games, but they cannot give the fourth ranked power play any opportunities.
- Shots on net. In all three of the Blue Jackets victories the club put at least 35 shots on net and are ninth in the league with 33.3 shots on net per game.
- Get back on track. After a tough overtime loss to the Blackhawks, the Jackets will be looking to take out their frustration on the Islanders.
