Something's gotta give.

Either the Blue Jackets or Vancouver Canucks will leave Nationwide Arena Tuesday with their first win of the season. Both teams enter tonight's contest with identical 0-3-0 records to begin the 2022-23 season. While the Blue Jackets haven't played since Saturday, the Canucks played on Monday and tonight will be their third game in four nights.

News & Notes

Lines
  • As expected, Nick Blankenburg slots in for Adam Boqvist. That's the only personnel change from Saturday's game.
  • Brad Larsen on taking Boqvist out of the lineup: "I'm gonna keep that kind of between me and him and we'll talk about it. That's coach's decision."
  • Larsen on Blankenburg: "He's got a real good knack of taking in information in the zone and exiting with the puck. Everything he does is with assertiveness and I think that's going to help our group."
Update on Patrik Laine
  • Patrik Laine, who has not played since Wednesday and will be out for a total of three-to-four weeks with an elbow sprain, skated and shot pucks in full gear by himself today.
  • Larsen on Laine: "I don't really have a solid update for you other than he's improving, but I don't think he's anywhere close to playing within the next couple of games."

The Jackets and Canucks face off tonight at 7 p.m. ET, with both teams looking to get in the win column.
