Adam Fantilli scored his second goal in as many games but the Blue Jackets couldn't hold their lead, falling 3-2 in overtime to the Ducks on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena.

1st Period

Anaheim's Adam Henrique had the first big chance of the game at 4:32, but his shot from the left doorstep was denied by Blue Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins.

Emil Bemstrom opened the scoring on the power play with his first goal of the year at 16:49, firing a left-circle one-timer past Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal.

The Jackets took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission along with a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal.

2nd Period

Shortly after exiting the penalty box, Anaheim's Mason McTavish had a chance to even the score, but Merzlikins gloved his left-circle wrist shot.

The Ducks would tie the game at 15:49 when Pavel Mintyukov's left-circle wrist shot careened off Merzlikins' pad and found Ryan Strome, who lifted the puck off the crossbar and in.

The teams headed into the third period tied at one with the Jackets leading 19-17 in shots on goal.

3rd Period

Kent Johnson nearly gave the Jackets the lead at 3:48 on the power play but his left-circle wrist shot hit the crossbar.

Fantilli scored his second go-ahead goal in as many games with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle at 9:13.

Brett Leason tied the game at 3:47 with a left-circle slap shot that beat Merzlikins five-hole.

The clubs were even at two goals apiece after 60 minutes with the Blue Jackets carrying a 35-24 advantage in shots on goal into overtime.

Overtime

Zach Werenski hit the post from between the circles at 0:49, then Merzlikins robbed Troy Terry's breakaway with a glove save at 1:12, and Frank Vatrano ended the game at 2:20 with a breakaway wrist shot.

With the overtime loss, the Jackets fall to 3-2-1.
