The Blue Jackets announced several roster moves on Wednesday evening, placing Cole Sillinger (upper-body), Adam Boqvist (shoulder strain), and Elvis Merzlikins (illness) on injured reserve.
Sillinger is on IR retroactive to Nov. 26 and remains day-to-day, Boqvist is on IR retroactive to Dec. 5 and is expected to miss four weeks, and Merzlikins is on IR retroactive to Dec. 5 and is expected to miss a week.
These are three big losses as Boqvist and Zach Werenski were playing well on the top pair, Merzlikins has posted a .918SV% in his last 10 games, and Sillinger had been playing well on a line with Dmitri Voronkov and Yegor Chinakhov.
In a corresponding move, the club recalled Emil Bemstrom, Nick Blankenburg, and Jet Greaves, with the latter two being on emergency recalls.
In 8 games with the Monsters this season, Bemstrom has posted 10-4--14 after scoring 3-1--4 in 12 NHL games. Blankenburg has recorded 3-8--11 in 18 games with Cleveland and has posted 5-12--17 in 43 career NHL games. In net, Greaves has recorded a 9-3-0 record in 12 games in addition to an .899 SV% and 3.09 GAA.
Additionally, the club altered Daniil Tarasov's LTIR conditioning assignment with Cleveland to a regular assignment.
