The Blue Jackets activated goaltender Elvis Merzlikins off injured reserve following a three-game absence due to illness. According to BlueJackets.com's Jeff Svoboda, he will make the start on Thursday as the 9-16-5 Blue Jackets take on the 15-6-5 Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena at 7 p.m. ET on Bally Sports Ohio.

In 19 appearances this season, Merzlikins has a record of 6-8-4 along with a .910SV% and 3.10 GAA. He also becomes the third goalie on the Blue Jackets' roster, joining Daniil Tarasov and Spencer Martin.
Usually, teams only carry two goalies on their active roster, it appears the Blue Jackets are carrying three because all three net-minders above require passing through waivers.
