The Blue Jackets announced Monday that they placed forward Patrik Laine on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 14 with a clavicle fracture he suffered in Thursday's 6-5 overtime win over the Maple Leafs. In a corresponding move, the club added Cleveland Monsters captain and forward Brendan Gaunce to the NHL roster on an emergency recall.

Laine, who has scored 6-3--9 in 18 games this season, is expected to miss six weeks with his injury.
In 24 AHL games this season, Gaunce has recorded 6-9--15. He posted one assist in five NHL games in 2022-23.
The Blue Jackets are back in action on Tuesday when they play the Sabres in Buffalo at 7 p.m. ET.
