What a comeback for the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road.

Damon Severson and Jake Bean scored third-period goals to erase a two-goal deficit and Johnny Gaudreau scored the lone shootout goal to lift Columbus past the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in a shootout on Thursday at Wells Fargo Center.

Adam Fantilli, Jake Christiansen, Jack Roslovic, and Eric Gudbranson had the assists.

Daniil Tarasov made 39 saves.

The Blue Jackets improve to 3-13-1 when trailing after two periods this season and 1-5-0 on the road in that situation.

Fresh off being named an All-Star earlier in the evening, Travis Konecny scored twice to extend a six-game point streak (four goals, five assists).

Joel Farabee and Sean Couturier each had two assists. Farabee is on a three-game point streak (zero goals, five assists).

Samuel Ersson made 26 saves.

Columbus is 3-0-2 in their last five road games. The Flyers have lost four straight.

First Period

The Blue Jackets entered Thursday's tilt off a 4-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena, while the Flyers returned from a west coast trip looking to right the ship and end a recent three-game slide.

BLUE JACKETS 0 0 2 0 1/3 3
PHI FLYERS 1 0 1 0 0/3 2

Both teams traded power plays in which either team converted, but Konecny's 19th goal of the season at 17:12 broke the scoreless tie. Farabee and Couturier picked up the assists.

The Jackets killed three first-period penalties including a 5-on-3 to close out the opening period.

Second Period

The score remained 1-0 through two periods.

Columbus was 0-for-2 on two second-period power plays and had their second chance cut short after a tripping penalty to Damon Severson. Both teams would skate 4-on-4 to begin the third period.

The Flyers outshot Columbus 13-9 in the second period and 27-15 through 40 minutes.

Third Period

Konecny scored his second goal of the game at 4:29 with Farabee and Couturier each picking up their second assist of the game.

Needing to respond, the Blue Jackets did just that 55 seconds later at 5:24 with Severson's fifth goal of the year. Fantilli and Christiansen assisted in the play.

Looking for the equalizer, Bean scored his third of the year on a redirect at 10:20 with Roslovic and Gudbranson picking up the assists.

Philadelphia was 0-for-2 on their third-period power play opportunities.

A 2-2 game after three periods, we headed for overtime.

Overtime

There were no goals in the overtime as this one went to a shootout. It was Columbus' second shootout this season, having lost their only other one at Madison Square Garden, 4-3, against the New York Rangers on Nov. 14. It was the fifth for the Flyers, who came in 3-1.

Shootout

Gaudreau's lone shootout goal was the difference as the Blue Jackets won 3-2.

Fantilli played a career-high 20:18 and won a team-high 8-of-14 face-offs.
