The Blue Jackets are patiently waiting for Vitali Abramov to grab a spot in their lineup.
They thought – hoped? – it could happen as early as 2017-18, but Abramov didn't have the best training camp and was sent back to junior.
All he did upon returning to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League was dominate, again. He split the season between Gatineau and Victoriaville and finished with 104 points in 56 regular season games (all of which are shown in the highlight video above).
Is Abramov ready for full-time NHL duty in 2018-19? After another 100-point season in junior hockey, it certainly seems possible. One thing is clear: there's no denying this skilled kid has a bright future.
