You're getting closer and closer to that 40-goal-club, Mr. Cam Atkinson.
With a goal just 52 seconds into a game against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night, Cam Atkinson has set a new career high in goals with 36, with 16 games remaining on the season.
#CBJ on the board as @CamAtkinson13 sets a new single-season career high with his 36th of the season. Scores on the doorstep after the shot from @DSavy58 bounces back from behind the net 52 seconds in.

Atkinson's 2016-2017 season was when he first hit 35 goals, which was also his first season as an all-star. The veteran forward has been on a tear this season, very likely to hit 40 goals and could make a run at 50.
The Columbus Blue Jackets' franchise record for goals in a season is Rick Nash with 41 in the 2003-2004 season, which should be toppled by Atkinson soon.
Atkinson is also on his way to breaking his own point record for a single season. He needs just two more to break his record of 62, also set in 2016-2017.
