To put it kindly, the Jackets have struggled on the power play this season.
Through four games, they are 0/10 on man-advantage and even allowed a short-handed goal in Tuesday night's 4-3 OT win over the Canucks. They are the only team in the NHL that hasn't scored a power-play goal.
Per naturalstattrick.com, their power play ranks bottom five in the league in shots/60, scoring chances/60, high-danger chances/60, and xG/60.
But it's not because of a lack of effort. The main reason for the team's struggles on the power play has been the absence of Patrik Laine, who exited the team's season-opener on Oct. 12 and was placed on injured reserve with an elbow sprain.
This week, they changed up the power-play units, which are embedded in the tweet below.

Out of the teams with the 16 best power-play percentages last season, 12 made the playoffs, scoring at no less than a 21.2% rate.
If the Jackets want to compete for a playoff spot, their power play is going to have to turn it around in a big way, and soon.
