Thank you, fans.
It's a simple gesture, a common one in sports, but one that sometimes takes on a little more meaning.
That was the case for the Columbus Blue Jackets and their fans this season. On the ice, the Blue Jackets did their part with the most successful season in franchise history. Off the ice, a fan base that was deservedly skeptical of the franchise going into the season responded with raucous crowds and a renewed interest that saw Blue Jackets sweaters become one of the top fashion choices around town during the winter.
Though the season ended with a five-game playoff loss to Pittsburgh, the team and its fans did get one final high note with the 5-4 Game 4 win against the Penguins in the playoffs.
With the season over, many of the Blue Jackets have gone on Twitter to thank the fans for their support throughout the season. And the organization did the same, producing the video above.
Here's a sampling of the messages from Blue Jackets players thanking Columbus for its dedication during the season.
THANK YOU, 5th Line!
