Another Russian may be joining the Blue Jackets soon enough.
In the 3rd round of the NHL Draft with the 86th pick, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected goaltender Daniil Tarasov. Tarasov did not play this past season due to a leg injury.
During the 2015-16 season he played in the Minor Hockey League (MHL) in Russia where he posted a .918 save percentage in nine games. In those playoffs he played in two games and posted a .933 save percentage.

Tarasov was very impressive in 2015-16 when playing for Russia in the U18 World Junior Championships (WJC). He posted a .921 save percentage in five games played. He was also named to the "WJC Top 3 Players On Team."
