The Columbus Blue Jackets weren't ready to put Josh Anderson into a game right after signing his new three-year contract. They wanted to get him into a game or two with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL), with the intent of him coming back early next week.
It appears as though that conditioning assignment, which could last up to two weeks if the team wanted, is finished after one game. Following the Monsters' 4-0 season-opening loss to the Rockford IceHogs, Anderson told assembled media at Quicken Loans Arena that he's now headed to Columbus.

Anderson will likely join the Blue Jackets for practice on Monday, and assuming all goes as planned, he could make his season debut on Tuesday night in Raleigh against the Carolina Hurricanes.
UPDATE: The Blue Jackets confirmed Sunday afternoon that Anderson, who had 17 goals and 12 assists last year for the team, has been recalled from Cleveland.
