With the Caps pressing into the Blue Jackets' zone, Seth Jones stripped Alex Ovechkin, leading to a 2-on-1 the other way and a Matt Calvert goal that slipped past Braden Holtby to put the Blue Jackets up 1-0 in Game 5, 10:08 into the first period.
The shorthanded goal, Calvert's second of the series, gave the Blue Jackets their first lead in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
