Here are a few tidbits from the video.
Pre-Draft Meeting
In the clip of the team's pre-draft meeting, the club's executives and scouts discuss. Some players got rave reviews. Others, not so much.
"He has no strength," Jarmo Kekalainen said on an unspecified player. "No power. He has no explosiveness. He looks like a bag of milk. I would not draft this guy at all."
However, Kekalainen had high praise for David Jiricek, saying "he'd be a top-10 pick in any year."
Locker Room Renovation
Gus Nyquist and Elvis Merzlikins got a tour of the locker room and facility that is under construction. Safe to say they were impressed.
"This is amazing," Merzlikins said.
That's a big change," Nyquist said.
Merzlikins' Meet and greet with fans
Fans had a chance to meet the goaltender and also have memorabilia signed.
"This is amazing," Merzlikins said. "I am happy to make them happy."
NHL Draft
Final draft meeting
There was a discussion about moving back from the No. 12 pick if the team could acquire a second-round pick. They ended up staying pat and taking Denton Mateychuk.
Draft night
Kekalainen's reaction to the Montreal Canadiens selecting Juraj Slafkovsky: "Really?"
After the Philadelphia Flyers selected Cutter Gauthier fifth overall, Kekalainen said "we're gonna get our guy" in David Jiricek.
When being interviewed, Jiricek said he didn't know about the cannon at Nationwide Arena.
Free Agency
Rick Nash came into the club's 'war room' with Kekalainen, assistant general manager Josh Flynn, and others, and said Erik Gudbranson called former Jacket Derek Dorsett and said: "his buddy that he played with last year is dying to come to Columbus." That buddy, of course, is Johnny Gaudreau.
Kekalainen: "This is 'Johnny Hockey'?"
John Davidson: "Now we're talking hockey baby!"
