Many aren't interested in NHL All-Star game festivities.
They can be tedious or boring if they don't involve a player from a team you support. That is why the inclusion of former NHL goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is essential. Whatever Bryzgalov touches it turns into absolute gold.
During the media scrums for the NHL All-Star game, he asked all-stars like Brent Burns, Kris Letang, James Neal and Oliver Ekman-Larsson their thoughts on geometry, pirates, and black holes.
Burns was surprisingly game answering many questions, while players like Letang and Neal were in it for the learning experience.
The best part of the video may be when a media member incredulously says to Bryzgalov, "you didn't even like media when you played."
Bryzgalov gives the retort of the century: "There are the same questions every day, you know. There was a trained cockatoo out there (gestures outside), go and ask them the same question."
That is precisely why it is important to have interesting personalities in sports. Shaking up the status quo can be a good development.
