MATCHUP:
Blue Jackets at New York Islanders
Barclays Center, 7:00 PM
TV: FOX Sports Ohio
WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
- Can the Jackets keep it going? The Blue Jackets are fresh off a 6-1 win, and haven't put up less than 37 shots in any of their last four games. Two of those have been above 49, including the last game the Jackets played at Barclays Center, which they somehow managed to lose in regulation.
- Mat Barzal is something else, folks. The rookie has three five-point games for the Isles this year, but didn't see the ice during a crucial power play for his team late in their 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday night. Don't count on that happening again tonight – after all, the rookie has 59 points in 57 games this season.
- Somehow, despite Barzal's incredible season, two of his teammates have out-scored the dynamic rookie this season. Jonathan Tavares (obviously) and Josh Bailey have both been incredible, with 60-plus points each. Jordan Eberle and Anders Lee are also quality forwards, as the Isles boast one of the league's best forward groups. Five players with 40-plus points – that's impressive.
